"Christmas Scent" Recipe

Happy Holidays!

I'd like to share one of my favorite holiday traditions, a recipe that I clipped from Southern Living magazine many, many years ago. It makes your house smell so good! This year I am going to try some new ideas – enhancing it with a few drops of Young Living essential oils: cinnamon, clove, orange and lemon; and making a blend of the oils for my diffuser instead of the stove-top version. Let me know what you think!

Christmas Scent

(from Marilyn Salinas, Fort Worth, Texas)

3 (4 inch) cinnamon sticks
3 bay leaves
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/2 lemon, halved
1/2 orange, halved
1 quart water

Combine all ingredients in a teakettle or saucepan, bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer as long as desired. Check often, adding more water as needed. Mixture can be stored in refrigerator for several days and reused. Yield: 4 cups.

Have a wonderful holiday and very Happy New Year!
