Enhancing Sleep Quality

Do you have trouble falling asleep at night? Or do you wake up and have difficulty going back to sleep?

I think we all have these issues, at least occasionally. Here are some essential oils that have worked for me, plus a couple of others I have heard about. (All oils are from Young Living, of course!)

My first choice is always Peace &Calming. It smells wonderful and usually puts me out pretty quickly! If it's time for sleep but you are fighting it, put 2-3 drops in your palm, rub together, and rub on your chest and face. This is also my go-to procedure if I wake up and my mind is going crazy.

Lavender also works well. I have not tried Cedarwood but others testify to its effectiveness. Rub the oils on the soles of your feet if you don't want the fragrance so close to your face (or if your sleep partner objects).

The ultimate sleep inducer is Valerian, but I will warn you, it smells awful! Definitely apply to your feet, sparingly, and put on some socks. My joke is that you go to sleep to avoid the smell!!

As for snoring, Lavender works pretty well; apply it directly to your big toes. You could also try RC (applied to the throat/neck area) or Thyme (applied to the feet). When applying to your feet, always rub the oil on your toes as well as the soles.

Let me know if these work for you or if you have other favorites!
